The COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting manufacturing and global value chains. While lockdowns, suspension of work, and travel restrictions are in place to curb the spread of the virus, businesses are facing immediate consequences as flows of materials, information, and finances are delayed, interrupted, or suspended. Contractions in global trade, prolonged times to settle invoices, and a lack of orders were seen in March and April 2020. Nonetheless, this pause may provide opportunities for manufacturers to build stronger, more diverse supply chains. In this APO Productivity Talk, Jackie Tan, Vice President, Digital Service, TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific, will discuss what manufacturers can do to strengthen the resilience of their supply chains and how digitalization can support the necessary transition.
